Thank You cards for a local Non-Profit
Earlier this summer I designed and letterpress printed thank you cards for Sherwood Community Services, based in neighboring Lake Stevens. Sherwood’s mission is to provide innovative, inclusive services to children and adults with disabilities in their communities. The Director of Investment and Partnership, Jesi Griffin, and I were high school classmates in Niceville, Florida (Home of the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival!) and now both live here in the Seattle area! It’d been well over ten years since we’d seen each other and last summer we’d met up while our mutual friend, Nathalie, was in town. Earlier this year we ran into each other again at Engage Everett, where we started talking about this project.
Jesi was looking for uplifting greeting cards to send to donors and partners that captured the mission of Sherwood and added variety to their current card sets. She’d suggested, and I agreed, that illustrating “Thank you for believing!”, a play on their motto “Believing in abilities”, would capture the right tone and spirit. Using Sherwood’s style guide as a jumping off point, I illustrated the design and letterpress printed it in Sherwood’s green on 100% cotton paper.
It was fun to design greeting cards for an organization doing great work in the area and to reconnect with Jesi again! Learn more about Sherwood Community Services and donate here.
