I hope you're well and able to find some rays of hope and joy during our collective stay-at-home time. I've found myself short on words yet keeping my hands occupied, so I thought I'd share some views of what I've been up to in the studio. I hope they brighten your day a bit:

I finished and packed the commission piece I've been working on, Stardust. I was supposed to install it, but the client will be relocating out of the region once the stay-at-home orders are lifted. It's painted laser cut wood assembled in layers!

The original design is available as an art print, greeting card or sticker in my shop.

A limited amount of wire-bound splatter journals are now listed in the shop. I held an Instagram sale last week where most of them sold, so be sure to give me follow so you don't miss out on the next sale!

In December I was informed that I'd been nominated for Treasurer for Southern Graphics Council International, an international printmaking organization. SGC International is an educational non-profit organization committed to informing its membership about issues and processes concerning original prints, drawings, book arts, and handmade paper.

This year's conference in Puerto Rico was canceled due to coronavirus and was where I and the other board nominees were to go through the confirmation process. That process will now occur online. Wish us luck as confirmation commences and as we hopefully join as a new board in steering the organization forward.

Mike and I spent most of the weekend creating eighteen cloth face masks out of a cosmic print fabric I'd had for years. Mike cut and ironed while I manned the sewing machine. It was tiring work! They've gone to family, friends, and neighbors. Some will be delivered to Bayside Birth & Midwifery. The pattern printout and tutorial can be found here.

Lastly, due to the stay-at-home shift, I've devoted more time to sharing on Instagram what I’m doing in the studio. Reading your replies has helped me feel connected to humanity while I work in solitude.
